Your Opportunity

Are you ready to dive into the vibrant world of software development and make your mark in our product? At Boksi, we are expanding our product team and are on the lookout for a Backend Developer, with a focus on Devops, to join our team in Helsinki.

Your role

You are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software for a complex web application which is the heart of our business - The Boksi Platform. Success in this role means happy end users and software being developed that becomes core to solving customer and creator problems. This means you’re working closely with the rest of the business to translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the application’s frameworks.

For sustainable success, you value code that is easy to read for humans and fast to execute for computers, whilst being passionate about product and user experience. Coding isn’t everything though, being a team player, communicating effectively, supporting and driving others, and being agile when challenges arise, are all necessary parts of the role.

Your primary responsibilities may include:

• Backend development .

• Building and maintaining APIs.

• Maintaining Linux servers.

• Maintaining databases.

• Producing creative, clean, efficient code based on specifications that you help plan and design.

• Providing technical thought-leadership, leading the integration of new software components and third-party programs, and proposing the use of new technologies.

• Shaping the technical and architectural roadmap.

• Supporting deployments and reviewing others’ code.

• Troubleshoot and debugging.

• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting, improving documentation processes and setting an example for others.

• Analyse the business teams’ requirements and advise them accordingly.

• Raising potential issues of technical debt, making sure we balance speed and sustainability.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proficient in Python, python backend web frameworks (such as Django / Django Rest Framework) and automated testing frameworks (Pytest or similar).

• Experience with a hybrid cloud cloud environment, using technologies such as S3, Cloudfront, Docker and Redis.

• Comfortable with Git and the use of CI / CD pipelines (like Github Actions) for testing and deployment.

• Experience with Postgres and database maintenance.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
